MLD is a very light pressure therapy used to stimulate the lymphatic system. The amount of lymph fluid being circulated back to the heart in a 24 hour span goes from about 1.5-2L pre-treatment to 10-20L post treatment which can last up to 72 hours! It also increases your immune system by 20%-30% post treatment!!

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is helpful with:

Certified in Craniosacral Therapy, Lymphatic & Orthopedic Massage; Edith works extensively to provide you the best care possible by continuing with further education on a regular basis.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What should I expect for my first appointment? 
We ask for patients to come in with clean skin, making sure all makeup has been removed as we will be using serums, oils, etc. to help improve your experience while in our care.  Wear comfortable clothes and its crucial to make sure you are properly hydrated prior to treatment. Please refrain from wearing heavy fragrances. If you are unwell, for your wellness and safety, we ask for you to notify us as soon as possible as you will most likely will be rescheduled. It is a big no go to work on a patient who acutely unwell as your lymphatic system needs to do it's job properly. Should you arrive unwell, you may be turned away from the appointment and you may be responsible for the cost of the booked service.

Who Can Benefit From MLD?

Can you have lymphatic drainage after surgery?

If needing a post surgery MLD, there is a form for your physician to fill out that will give permission to move forward with a treatment, even same day as the surgery. Studies have shown that Lymphatic Drainage post sugery can help to speed up the healing process by reducing swelling and inflammation. 

How often will I need to come for treatments?

Every patient will receive a thorough assessment to determine the number of treatments needed and when they can expect a reassessment. For some, they can expect a series of 4 treatments booked a week apart. Others can benefit monthly or quarterly  to keep things flowing smoothly.

Do I need to do anything between sessions?

It is very beneficial to take it easy for the first 24 hours and to make sure that you drink plenty of water. Post treatment, your body is working really hard at flushing out toxins, excessive proteins, reducing pain and inflammation, etc. Resting your body will allow it to do this more efficiently.
